The beauty of Paddy's day (as it's known within the realm of Dublin) is that it give us an opportunity to pontificate on what it is to be Irish. In 2011, that is an interesting question, one in which there has been so much discussion on recently, particularly with our recent economic evolvement. Rather than go down that route, I'll talk about what it means for me:
1. Day off work
2. Avoid parade's at any cost
3. Get out and go for a nice long walk taking in some nice scenery
4. Note to self re prepare veg patch for sowing potatoes
5. Discuss with anyone that will listen about plans to live abroad
Now I have that out of my system, I'm off to Howth for a walk around by the Bailey Light House
