Fading Autumn Light

This week's (almost) Wordless Wednesday picture reflects the fading light of late Autumn/ early Winter on the foliage and dead flower stems of a terracotta pot grown Hosta 'Halcyon'.

The energy of the plant has been drawn back into the roots, leaving this lovely framework of yellow fleshy leaves that caught a glimpse of the low lying evening sunshine.

This picture captures what is a moment in time. Within a week, the leaves of the Hosta will have completely died back.

Happy gardening.
